At a time when the world is battling the rapid spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), we would like to further inform our customers about how we are securing our supplies and services and what precautions we have taken and will continue to take to ensure the health and wellbeing of you and our colleagues.
LC Packaging is taking the situation very seriously and we are following all measures recommended by the authorities in the countries where we are present.
Update 18 May 2020
All LC offices are still fully operational at this time. A large number of colleagues are still working from home and most offices are preparing to facilitate a (partial) return of these to their sites.
We are in continual contact with our colleagues at our own production facilities and our production partners, as well as our logistics service providers.
All our production facilities in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka have resumed production and are even scaling up in phases. Necessary precautions have been taken to put the safety of production employees first and to be able to follow the (inter)national guidelines of Government. This includes regular health checks, extensive cleaning schedules, sufficient working distance with fewer people on the work floor as a result and responsible supply and removal of raw materials and final products. As public transport is still at a standstill, transport for employees to and from the production facilities has also been organised in a safe and responsible manner.
These measures also apply to our production facilities for flexible plastic packaging in Europe. Although they have been fully operational in recent months, they too are experiencing the consequences of this crisis in the workplace.
The measures taken to put the safety of production workers first, result in high additional costs. We bear the vast majority of these costs, so that we can limit the consequences for you. This can lead to a price increase as long as this situation remains. Naturally, this is done in close consultation.
Thanks to our long-standing relationships with our production partners and our own production facilities, you can be sure that your product demand is being prioritized. Your contact person at LC Packaging will be happy to discuss with you what the above measures mean for you. We will of course keep you informed of further developments when these occur.
Despite this very difficult period for everyone, we maintain a great team spirit and all our people worldwide are committed to remain 100% behind our core values even under these uncertain conditions: LC Packaging is and remains your: Committed, Reliable & Loyal partner in packaging!
Update 21 April 2020
All LC offices are still fully operational at this time. It goes without saying that a large number of colleagues work from home and that works very well under these circumstances.
Because we manufacture many of our products ourselves, we have a good overview of the entire supply chain. We are in constant contact with our production facilities, our production partners and our logistics service providers.
Our manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka have reduced production capabilities or are temporarily closed. This mainly affects our flexible plastic packaging and jute packaging. Although our production facilities are often classified as vital companies and they can therefore remain open, it proves difficult to get employees to the production location for various reasons.
Our production facilities for flexible plastic packaging in Europe are operational, although they too are experiencing the consequences of this crisis, albeit to a very limited extent. This also applies to our two corrugated board production facilities in Belgium and Hungary. Should this unexpectedly change, we will of course inform you about this.
For the production facilities that are now closed, we see that the planned production for April, and also the subsequent shipping, is delayed by at least 4 weeks. Your LC contact person will make contact with you if your supply is affected, otherwise please do not hesitate to discuss with us any requirements you may need. Our stock is still at the level before this crisis and it may well be that it can be of service to you.
Despite this very difficult time for everyone, we maintain a great team spirit and all our people worldwide are committed to remain 100% behind our core values. Even under these uncertain conditions LC Packaging is and will remain your Committed, Reliable & Loyal partner in packaging!
Thank you for your confidence in LC Packaging.
Update 26 March 2020
To help prevent the further spread of COVID-19, our people work from home whenever possible. This works excellently with current technology. Our commercial employees continue to support all our customers via telephone, Teams or other digital communication means available. All events and meetings have been canceled, we have stopped traveling and we focus on having our internal and external meetings take place digitally as well.
Because we produce many of our products ourselves and have a good overview of the entire supply chain. We are in continuous contact with our production facilities, our production partners and our logistical transport partners.
Recently, various authorities in Asia have taken further measures that limit our production. While these guidelines vary from country to country, production sites in the Far East should remain closed for the next 2 or 3 weeks. This affects mainly our flexible plastic packaging and jute packaging.
Our production facilities for flexible plastic packaging in Europe are currently running at approximately 70% capacity for FIBCs due to border restraints. Other flexible plastic packaging is still fully operational. As are our two production sites for corrugated board in Belgium and Hungary. In the unlikely event that this changes, we will let you know immediately.
The situation is constantly changing. Deliveries may be affected due to local or international (border) restrictions and further precautions to protect people's health and wellbeing.
It is important to continue using our capacity as efficiently and meaningfully as possible. This is only possible if we stay in close contact with you, our customer. Together we can make a good schedule of your current orders and assess if measures need to be taken. Can bottlenecks be predicted? And if so, what alternatives are available? We are happy to help and advise you. Please contact your contact person within LC Packaging if you have any issues or questions.
Despite this very difficult time for everyone, we maintain a great team spirit here at LC Packaging and all our people worldwide are committed to remain 100% behind our core values: LC Packaging is and will remain your: Committed, Reliable & Loyal partner in packaging!
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
