First-of-its-kind waste recycling project in Bangladesh

Thousands of tons of waste diminish the beauty of the Bengali streets and waters. The biggest culprit is plastic waste, which accounts for a big portion of this waste.

Together with its local partners, LC Packaging initiated a first-of-its kind waste recycling project: GreenBANGLA. The aim is to collect used plastics from our FIBC production location or buy used plastics from local companies, to recycle and process into value-adding products: PP granulates. For instance, these granules can be used for the production of polypropylene bags.

GreenBANGLA is co-financed by the German Investment Corporation (DEG) and the Dutch Development Bank (FMO).
