Senior Account Manager – FIBC (Strategic Accounts) | UK

Win Strategic Business. Build Executive Relationships. Shape the Future of Our FIBC Division. Are you an experienced strategic sales professional who thrives on winning complex new business, opening doors with major manufacturers, and building relationships that create long-term commercial partnerships?

We're looking for a Senior Account Manager to lead the growth of our Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container (FIBC) business across the UK. This is not a traditional account management role. Approximately 80% of your time will be focused on identifying, developing and winning new strategic business with larger manufacturing and industrial organisations. The remaining 20% will be dedicated to maintaining and growing a portfolio of key customer accounts, ensuring we continue to strengthen long-term partnerships.

You'll be selling solutions, not commodities—working with customers to understand their manufacturing processes, supply chains and commercial challenges before developing packaging solutions that deliver measurable value.

About the Role:

As our Senior Account Manager, you will:

  • Identify, develop and secure new strategic business opportunities with larger UK manufacturing and industrial organisations.
  • Build relationships across multiple levels of customer organisations, from Managing Directors and senior leadership teams through to Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Quality and Production.
  • Develop long-term sales strategies to win complex, high-value opportunities.
  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of key strategic customer accounts.
  • Lead consultative, solution-led sales conversations focused on operational efficiency, sustainability, supply chain resilience and commercial value.
  • Navigate complex buying structures where purchasing decisions involve multiple stakeholders and contacts frequently change.
  • Position our business as a trusted strategic partner rather than simply another packaging supplier.
  • Develop strong prospect pipelines through networking, referrals, market intelligence and targeted business development.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across operations, customer service, technical, logistics, sustainability and marketing to deliver exceptional customer solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within the industrial packaging sector.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts and pipeline activity within our CRM system.
  • Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.

About You:

  • This role is designed for someone who enjoys opening new doors, influencing senior decision-makers and developing relationships that deliver long-term commercial success.
  • You're equally comfortable presenting in a boardroom, negotiating with procurement teams or spending time on a production floor understanding how a customer's operation works.

  • Experience navigating long sales cycles and complex procurement structures involving multiple decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the resilience to develop opportunities that may take months to convert.
  • The ability to think strategically while delivering measurable commercial results.
  • Experience within flexible packaging, industrial packaging, manufacturing or related sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • University level education.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Working Across Our International Group:

While your customers will be based in the UK, you will work closely with colleagues across our wider international group, including our headquarters in the Netherlands.
