More than 100 Years of history

Our History

In the 1920s, Amsterdam was home to many bag traders. In 1923, Wilhelmus “Wim” Lammers started his own company, trading used jute bags, the leading packaging material of the time. Bags were purchased, cleaned, repaired when needed and sold again.

Wim was one of many traders in a thriving market where tens of millions of bags changed hands each year. What set his story apart is what came next. The company he founded as NV Zakkenhandel v/h W. Lammers is still in business more than 100 years later.

The Fourth Generation

Over the years, the company became Lammers & Van Cleeff BV and later Royal LC Packaging. What started in Amsterdam has grown into an international packaging company with operations across Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

Today, the fourth generation of the Lammers family leads the business. Our products, expertise and production capabilities have grown significantly, but the values at the heart of the company have remained the same: Committed, Reliable and Loyal.

Jute bags are still part of our portfolio today, connecting where we started with who we are now. More than a century later, Royal LC Packaging is still built on entrepreneurship, long-term relationships and doing business with integrity.

Family-Owned. Built for the Long Term.

More than a century of family history comes with a clear responsibility: to protect what previous generations built while preparing the business for those still to come. In this interview, CEO Lucas Lammers explains why he sees Royal LC Packaging as a family business “on loan from his children.” He shares how that perspective continues to shape our decisions, our values, and the lasting partnerships we build with customers around the world.
