Serving as LC Packaging Southern Africa's regional production facility for FIBCs, also known as Big Bags or bulk bags, LC Shankar is located in Pietermaritzburg. In our modern 10,000-square-metre plant, tailor-made Big Bags are crafted for leading companies in mining, chemicals, food, and many other industries.

That’s why we have joined forces with our long-term production partner Shankar Packagings from India by investing in local FIBC production in South Africa. Our state-of-the-art facility allows us to stay close to our customers. Big bags are stored on site in Pietermaritzburg, which means that they are always available for a speedy delivery without any nasty surprises to our customer's supply. This reduces lead times, minimises supply chain risks, and ensures a reliable, stable supply - while creating positive impact in the local community.

Every bag is hand-crafted by skilled specialists working in best-in-class conditions and earning at least a living wage. Our operations are powered by innovative sustainability solutions such as solar energy from our own solar panels, rainwater-supplied-toilets and a zero-waste-to-landfill project. All of this is included in the EcoVadis Platinum rating received by Royal LC Packaging.
